The Netflix series “The Crown” is apparently looking for an actress to portray the young Kate Middleton.

Even before the start of the fifth season of the Netflix hit series “The Crown”, preparations are already underway for the sixth and probably last season of the royal drama. The makers of the series are currently looking for a cast for the role of young Kate Middleton (40), reports the US magazine “People”.

The probably final season of the popular series should therefore play in the late 1990s and early 2000s. However, Kate will only appear in a small supporting role, it is currently speculated. The beginning of her relationship with Prince William (39) at St Andrews University in Scotland will probably be picked up on the sidelines of the series.

A month earlier there had already been a casting call for young actors for the roles of Prince Harry (37) and Prince William. It was emphasized that no acting experience was required and that filming for the roles was planned for August of this year.

This is what season five of “The Crown” is about

The fifth season of the series is expected to be released on Netflix in November 2022. This will reportedly focus on the period 1990-1997. The year 1992 in particular, which Queen Elizabeth II (95) described as “annus horribilis” (lt. for “terrible year”), will therefore play a greater role. That year there was a fire in Windsor Castle and, among other things, the marriage crisis and subsequent separation of Prince Charles (73) and Diana (1961-1997) made headlines.
