An investigation opened since February in Nice for “kidnapping and forcible confinement followed by death” gave rise to a major police operation in a bar, at 66 rue de France, on Wednesday evening. The body of a man was discovered “walled up” in the cellar of the establishment, the prosecution told 20 minutesconfirming information from Nice morning. Several people were taken into custody.
According to a police source, the manager would have admitted having had a dispute with a man, having killed him, then having sunk him “in a concrete slab recently”. Traces of blood had been discovered in his cafe, the Atrium, during a search.
With the assistance of firefighters clearing specialists
Judicial information is now open under the direction of an investigating judge and the prosecution did not wish to confirm, at this stage, the identity of those arrested, nor that of the victim.
On Wednesday evening, firefighters specializing in rescue and clearing operations were called to the scene to be able to extract the corpse which had indeed been “cast in concrete”, according to the prosecution. The establishment was placed under seal.
