Mel Gibson joins the John Wick universe with The Continental.

The “John Wick” offshoot “The Continental” will start soon. A new trailer now shows Mel Gibson as the villain in the miniseries.

Keanu Reeves (58) will probably not appear in “The Continental”, but promises a new trailer for the “John Wick” offshoot powerful action, as you are used to from the popular film series. In the preview video, fans see Mel Gibson (67), who embodies the mysterious villain Cormac in the miniseries. It is Gibson’s first major appearance in a television format since 2004’s sitcom Complete Savages.

“The Continental”: Back to the 1970s

The three-part miniseries “The Continental: From the World of John Wick” shows the history of the hitman hotel known from the film series from the point of view of the hotel manager Winston Scott, who is played by Colin Woodell (31). It takes place in New York in the 1970s, around 40 years before the events of the cinema series. In the films, Ian McShane (80) embodies old Winston Scott.

In addition to Woodell and Gibson, stars include Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, Ben Robson, Jessica Allain, Peter Greene, Mishel Prada and Kate Nhung. Two of the three episodes were directed by executive producer Albert Hughes and the other by Charlotte Brändström, who also directed two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

In the US, action fans can watch the Peacock streaming service starting September 22nd. Parts two and three of The Continental: From the World of John Wick will be released on September 29 and October 6. In Germany, Amazon Prime Video takes over the broadcast.
