the conspiratorial driver arrested in Esquelbecq claims to have “only drank two beers”

In Esquelbecq, a driver refused to submit to an alcohol test, resorting to arguments from the conspiracy theory of “legal name fraud”. He was arrested by the gendarmerie.

The video has been viewed more than 30 million times. Monday April 1, gendarmes wanted to subject a driver to an alcohol test, in the town of Esquelbecq (North). They had no idea of the magnitude that this episode would take: the man, aged 52 according to The voice of the Northwith his passenger, refused to comply using conspiratorial arguments.

“I am not entering into a contract. We are not entering into a contract with you,” insisted Pierre, the driver, supported by his wife, who was filming the scene.

“I no longer belong to the République Française Présidence company. It has been a private company since 1947,” said the driver, while presenting a false identity card and a false driving license.

Refuse any contract with the State

The argument actually refers to the conspiracy theory known as “legal name fraud”, as pointed out by Vincent Flibustier, digital communications trainer, who relayed the video of the arrest on the X network.

According to this conspiracy theory, France has been a private company since 1947, to which “sovereign beings” can refuse to submit by rejecting any contract. Followers of this theory therefore consider that they do not have to respect the law as long as they refuse to “contract” with the authorities.

Placed in police custody

This was not enough to save Pierre from being arrested. When he refused to open the door of his car, a police officer ended up breaking the window. In the last seconds of the video published on social networks, the man is notified of his custody and handcuffed.

“He claimed that France was a company whose laws only had the value of ‘internal regulations’ to which he was not subject,” the prosecution confirmed to La Voix du Nord.

Contacted by the daily, the driver assured that he had “only drunk two beers” and had been a fan of “legal name fraud” since 2022.
