It has been apparent for months that the far-right parties are likely to make significant gains in the European elections at the beginning of June. However, it is questionable whether a strengthened bloc of right-wing populists and right-wing extremists will be formed afterwards. Cracks are emerging between the two heavyweights in the Identity and Democracy (ID) faction, the AfD and Marine Le Pen’s French Rassemblement National (RN), which could lead to a break.
