the colors to adopt without hesitation in your interior this fall

Red sets the tone

Dynamic and warm, red is the flagship color of the season. It is available from vermilion red to burgundy red. To adopt it, we opt for a few discreet notes by falling for a few ceramics, a rug or cushion covers. And we even have fun working on it in shades or gradients. Or we dare to go bold by choosing it to showcase the staircase or a piece of furniture.

Beware of bad taste, however! If all shades of red are trendy, we avoid the lacquered finish at all costs – especially in the kitchen.

Too intense for you, red? Bet on a variant that still remains relevant: the terracotta color.

Orange announces the color

The other fiery color that is setting the decor on fire this season is orange, obviously! We love shades that lean towards brown, such as flambé orange. For a retro and vibrant pop twist, however, we dare to use vibrant shades – which we simply make sure to use in moderation.

To adopt a vibrant shade of orange, we therefore opt for decoration in small touches, or we associate it with a color which will temper it. Now is the time to fall for Tendre Coton, the pinkish beige that Dulux Valentine has chosen as the color of the year 2024!

Brown calms things down

Among the major decorating trends for the fall, it was completely impossible to escape brown. And it’s set to last! We prefer warm shades of brown, capable of warming up the decor as effectively as red or orange, but with more discretion. For a sober, but irresistible look, we opt for the association with the cream color, which tends to replace white.

Sober, but so cocooning, brown invites itself into the home both on the walls and through the furniture. We take the opportunity to add a cocooning touch to the decor by opting for pieces in velvet or wool.

Green gets a tangy twist

Sage green, emerald green, khaki green… You will have understood: this season, to refresh our interior, we are focusing everything on green! As always, you say? Not so sure ! This fall, we are indeed seeing shades of green reappear that flirt with yellow.

Apple green or lime green: these tangy shades just need to be softened by a touch of lilac – a color with already spring accents that we will have to reckon with more than ever in 2024.

Black sets fire to the powder

This fall is marked by the remarkable return of black in our interiors. Once supplanted by gray, it is once again taking center stage. However, it is a matter of choosing the right shade, favoring a charcoal black – which can also be defined as a very (very!) dark gray. In order to make the right choice, we turn to Behr, for example. The color editor offers a very beautiful interpretation with the shade Cracked Pepper, which is none other than its color of the year 2024.

The advantage of this very particular black is that it is perfectly sufficient in itself. And it looks great in combination with almost every color. We therefore combine it with neutrals such as cream or brown, or even with gray pastels – including ice blue, which promises to be another safe bet in 2024.
