Thursday, in Amiens, in the Somme, a 32-year-old man had disappeared with his two-year-old son. Both were found this Friday in Marseille. The man was arrested and placed in police custody, the child is “in good health” announced the prosecution of Amiens.
“Yannick G. was arrested at the very end of the morning in an apartment in Marseille, which he occupied with his son”, indicated the public prosecutor of Amiens, Alexandre de Bosschere in a press release. “The child is in good health. He is being cared for by social services while waiting to be entrusted to his mother who is going to Marseille” on Friday, he added.
The defendant had already been imprisoned for domestic violence
This arrest “follows information obtained by investigators from the Amiens police station in the middle of the morning as part of the continuation of their investigations”. An investigation had been opened by this police station for “subtraction of a minor by ascendant” following the disappearance Thursday of this child in the company of his father.
“The respondent did not have a right of accommodation on his son”, and was “unfavorably known to justice”, had indicated the prosecutor. He has been “convicted several times for various crimes” and has already been imprisoned, in particular for acts of domestic violence.
