The Champions League final will take place at the Stade de France instead of Saint Petersburg

UEFA has decided. As expected, the final of the next Champions League, scheduled for May 28, will not be held in Saint Petersburg. The Gazprom Arena was stripped of the poster after Russia invaded Ukraine. The match will finally take place at the Stade de France, while English media indicated earlier in the week a possible relocation to Wembley. The enclosure of Saint-Denis had hosted in 2006 this prestigious poster, then won by FC Barcelona against Arsenal.

The European body had already moved the final of its flagship competition last year. Due to strong travel restrictions between the United Kingdom and Turkey, the English duel between Chelsea and Manchester City (1-0), initially scheduled for Istanbul, finally took place in Porto.
