CGT Secretary General Philippe Martinez calls on TotalEnergies to “renegotiate” with strikers
The proposals of the management of TotalEnergies to the unions are still ” far “ of the 10% general increase in wages demanded by the CGT, underlined Friday its secretary general, Philippe Martinez, who called on the group to “renegotiate”.
According to the two reformist unions CFDT and CFE-CGC, the management of the company proposed overnight a 7% salary increase from November and bonuses, but this proposal includes “individual increases” and an “change in seniority bonus”which in fact reduces to 5% “general salary increase” advanced, detailed Mr. Martinez on Franceinfo.

“We are not oblivious, we know that the daily life of all French people is impacted” by this social conflict, recognized Mr. Martinez, but the responsibility, according to him, lies with the management of the oil group and the government, which has “trivialized the impact of the strike”.
“The question of the strike must be debated in all companies”because “the social anger expressed in the country is legitimate”also explained Mr. Martinez in an interview with Humanity released on Friday.
