The CGT agitates the threat of the “stop” of refining

Against the pension reform wanted by the executive, the CGT unions in the oil branch called for several strikes on January 19 and 26 as well as on February 6 with “if necessary, the shutdown of refining facilities”, according to a press release issued Thursday by Eric Sellini, the union’s national coordinator for TotalEnergies.

The call will lead to “decreases in flow” and “the cessation of shipments”, Eric Sellini told AFP. On February 6, a “renewable strike with, if necessary, the shutdown of refining facilities” will be “offered to employees”, indicates the CGT.

“It is through the unity of the employees that we will stop this deeply unjust reform and that we will impose our demands”, can we read in the press release, broadcast on Facebook.

Faced with the decline in the legal retirement age to 64, supported by the government, a day of large-scale mobilization is announced in a week, Thursday, January 19. The RATP unions want “a powerful strike”. All the unions have come out against the reform and are calling for action.
