The Canarian singer Olga Cerpa comes to the Gasteig HP8 – Munich

At least her first name could be misleading: Olga Cerpa is not in the east, but in the extreme southwest of Europe. The twice-nominated singer for a Latin Grammy is the best-known representative of the music of the Canary Islands. The “Atlantic Sounds” with her band Mestisay staged songs can now be viewed in the Hall X of the Gasteig HP8 enjoy: A mixture of the typical timple guitars of the Canary Islands, the melancholic fado of the Portuguese occupiers, the rhythms of the nearby African and Spanish coasts, but also the fiery boleros from Cuba. Cerpa has already presented this stirring mix, which has now been recorded on more than 20 albums, with the great Cuban singer Omara Portuondo, the Spanish singer-songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat or the Galician folk band Milladoiro.
