Guerrilla scene in front of the Cachan comprehensive high school, located in Val-de-Marne. Several dozen hooded individuals targeted the school by throwing Molotov cocktails inside the school grounds, according to several police sources. Trash cans were also set on fire in front of the school. One person was arrested.

Police car attacked

The intervention of the police did not allow calm to return since a municipal police car was attacked and overturned. The arrival of reinforcements ultimately led to the dispersal of the individuals who headed to the site of the former École Normale Supérieure.

Two police officers were injured, according to a police source. Contacted by Europe 1, the rectorate explains that the teaching teams have sheltered “as many students as possible” by bringing them into the high school where “classes are held normally”.

A team from the rectorate sent to the site

Still according to the Créteil academy, a team from the rectorate was sent to the site. No explanation for this violence has yet been given even if the academy specifies that “last week, teachers mobilized over the state of the school buildings”, before specifying that “it has been a very long time since this kind of things hadn’t happened near a high school” in the department.
