The brother of Mohamed Lamine Aberouz imprisoned for having threatened to kill a lawyer

After the youngest, the older brother. Charaf-Din Aberouz, eldest of Mohamed Lamine Aberouz, recently sentenced to life imprisonment for complicity in the assassination of a couple of police officers in Magnanville (Yvelines) in 2016, was also imprisoned. The reason ? He is suspected of having threatened to kill a lawyer at his brother’s trial.

The 37-year-old man who was on trial this Monday in immediate appearance requested the adjournment of his trial. Due to the risk of “pressure on the victim” and “reiteration”, he was imprisoned and will be tried on November 27. On January 16, the defendant was convicted of threatening to kill a person holding public authority.

Already convicted of terrorism in 2013

Close to Larossi Abballa, who murdered Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, 42, and Jessica Schneider, 36, in the name of the Islamic State organization before being shot, Charaf-Din Aberouz was initially indicted for terrorist conspiracy in this case, before benefiting from a dismissal of the case.

In 2013, he was sentenced to five years in prison for criminal conspiracy to prepare a terrorist act, after trying to join an Al-Qaeda training camp in Pakistan in 2011.

His younger brother, Mohamed Lamine Aberouz, 30, was convicted on Wednesday of complicity in the murder of the Magnanville police couple and sentenced to life imprisonment with a 22-year security sentence. He appealed the judgment.
