The Breton seasonal worker who disappeared in Méribel found dead

The growing concern was justified. The lifeless body of Maël Briand, a 23-year-old seasonal worker, was found on Sunday in a small river near the ski resort of Méribel, in Savoie, reports France Blue. The young man, originally from the small town of La Chapelle-aux-Filtzméens (Ille-et-Vilaine), had come to work in catering, in Méribel, for the winter season.

His disappearance had been reported by his employer and his family. The young man, who was staying with a roommate in the station, had not given any sign of life since January 19. He had been filmed by a video surveillance camera on January 20. A call for witnesses had been launched.

His body was finally found Sunday morning by a team of gendarmes. The investigation must now shed light on what could have led the young man to death.
