At some point, young Mahito penetrated so deeply into the parallel world that he came face to face with its creator. The years are written on the old man’s lined face, his tangled hair looks as if he were wearing a shining star on his head. He sits on the lawn in front of a small table. And above him, in the blue sky, floats this huge stone from which he has always derived his power over his vast empire: the sea, the meadows, the flock of parakeets and the little houses where there is red jam.
