At the time of their disappearance, thirty years ago, they were aged 38 and 40. According to information from Nice morningthe bodies of two divers were found at 103 meters and 118 meters depth, and brought to the surface during December.
Daniel and Christian, the name of the divers, were exploring the “American Falls”, a site in deep waters off the coast of Nice, renowned and reserved for the most experienced, when they disappeared on December 4, 1993.
A diving robot
It was during a dive on this same site that the remains were discovered by chance by divers: in the murky water, they spotted a wetsuit and a diving tank.
The regional daily recounts the rest of the operations: the gendarmes deployed a robot to reach the area. It took them six hours to find the remains the divers were talking about. The second was spotted during another operation of the robot. An investigation is now open to determine the cause of death.
