The big student festival canceled, more than a thousand meals distributed free of charge

A bad for a good. Scheduled for this Thursday, the major back-to-school Campus Day student festival (concerts, screenings, etc.) will unfortunately not take place at the University of Angers. The fault lies in unfavorable weather forecasts, and in particular a storm and wind warning, which could have “endangered the safety” of the thousands of students invited to this event, indicates the university.

But rather than throwing all the planned meals in the trash, a large distribution will be organized free of charge on the Belle-Beille and Saint-Serge campuses. The service providers, whose arrival could not be canceled, will therefore be present on Thursday with their food trucks (burgers, pancakes, plant-based street food) to feed the students. Some 1,100 dishes will be offered to them between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m., upon registration.

The distribution of free breakfasts, initially planned to launch Campus Day, has been postponed until Friday morning, indicates the university.
