The Berlin Kulturforum is to be converted into a “museum garden” – culture

The thing is over, the patient is dead, hope is long gone. It was that bad for years with the Berlin Kulturforum. It looked just as dreary on Saturday when Klaus Biesenbach, the new director of the New National Gallery, and Dirk Messner, President of the Federal Environment Agency, toured the area in the drizzle. But if you listened to the two, the sun rose in your head: you could already see trees growing in the parked cul-de-sacs, people are cavorting on the deserted “Piazzetta”, the bus turning loop is a park full of people. This is how the two imagine the “museum garden” with which they want to finally bring the area, which has been comatose for decades, to life. They actually only wanted to report how the Museum der Moderne, now teasingly called “Berlin Modern”, should become less harmful to the climate.
