Jason Statham seeks revenge in “The Beekeeper” – German trailer for the action film released

The new year is off to an action-packed start. In “The Beekeeper” Jason Statham takes on the role of an inconspicuous beekeeper who seeks revenge after his neighbor’s suicide.

In “The Beekeeper” Jason Statham once again shows his finest side. As a passionate beekeeper, he leads an extremely peaceful life surrounded by his bees. But as is often the case in Statham films – and run-of-the-mill action flicks in general – a woman’s plight awakens his protective instincts. His neighbor has lost all her money due to a telephone scam – Statham is seeking revenge and wants to take revenge on the organization responsible. But she is more powerful than expected – and Statham is a thorn in the side of the fraudsters.

The trailer, which has now also been released in German, gives the first clues as to why the beekeeper turns his back on the bees in retaliation. He says, “Mrs. Parker and I were friends, she was the only one who ever cared about me. She shot herself yesterday.” But his personal vendetta quickly becomes a national affair; there is more than just a criminal group behind the organization responsible for Mrs. Parker’s suffering and therefore her suicide. But Statham is not just a simple beekeeper either.

His fighting skills come from his time as a special agent, when he was a member of a mysterious group called the Beekeepers. And so he quickly marches into the headquarters of the ominous organization – and blows it up. His philosophy: “I protect the collective. If the system is out of balance, I correct it.”

“The Beekeeper”: Brutal, bloody, explosive

The clip shows: It will be brutal, extremely bloody and explosive because: “This is about more than just a little internet fraud.” Statham is starting the coming year the same way he will end 2023 – action-packed and drastic in the style of “The Expendables 4”, the tenth part of “Fast & Furious” and “Meg 2: The Deep”.

In addition to Statham, many other Hollywood stars are involved in “The Beekeeper”, including Phylicia Rashad (“The Bill Cosby Show”), Emmy Raver-Lampman (“The Umbrella Academy”) and Josh Hutcherson (“The Hunger Games”) . Producer David Ayer, who directed action hits such as “Suicide Squad” with Margot Robbie in the lead role or the war drama “Heart of Steel”, is also taking the helm of “The Beekeeper”. Kurt Wimmer (“Salt”) is responsible for the script.

“The Beekeeper” will be released in German cinemas on January 11, 2024.
