“The Beatrice Egli Show” achieved higher ratings than “DSDS” or “The Masked Singer” on Saturday at prime time in the first.

“The Beatrice Egli Show” got off to a dream start at its premiere in the first. With 3.66 million viewers, she beat “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” (RTL) and “The Masked Singer” (ProSieben), according to official AGF data. That meant 14.1 percent market share for the music show, which ran for the first time in the ARD main program. So far, Beatrice Egli (34) has already had good ratings on SWR, MDR and SRF.

The hit show only had to give way to the ZDF film “Conti – Meine Zwei Götter” on Saturday evening: the film attracted 4.05 million viewers and was able to claim the day’s victory with a market share of 15.3 percent.

Weak with young audiences

The ARD program with guests like Peter Maffay (73), Ute Freudenberg (67) or Bülent Ceylan (47) was not so well received in the group of 14 to 49 year olds: only a good 360,000 people in this age group tuned in , which corresponded to a market share of 6.4 percent. The “DSDS” finale with 940,000 (14.9 percent) and “The Masked Singer” with 1.09 million young viewers (17.2 percent market share) were able to clearly set themselves apart.

Is Egli’s ARD premiere really an exception?

Despite the weak ratings in the young target group, “The Beatrice Egli Show” was able to record impressive numbers on Saturday evening. The show was announced as a “one-off” exception. But given the lively interest, that could possibly change.

“The Beatrice Egli Show” premiered in April 2022 and went on stage again in November. The second edition with guests like Andrea Berg (57), Maite Kelly (43) or the Höhnern attracted over 2.1 million viewers to the television. According to a press release, this corresponded to a market share of 8.5 percent of the total audience.
