Change to “The Bachelor”: RTL is sending two single men into the race
In 2024, two bachelors will award the roses

This has never happened before: Two bachelors will compete in the next season of “The Bachelor”. This was announced by the broadcaster RTL. Another innovation is also planned.
A bachelor’s degree is not enough. In the 14th season, RTL is sending two bachelors into the race. The two Rosenkavaliers will compete for the hearts of the candidates in a direct duel. The popular dating format is even being renamed. “The Bachelor” becomes “The Bachelors.” This the broadcaster now announced. Names and further details about the bachelors will be announced on December 6th.
However, the number of women will not be doubled in the new format. So the two men meet the same ladies. There are even fewer participants in the fight for the roses than last time. According to RTL, 22 female singles will be taking part in the next season. In the last round there were 23 candidates (including replacements), and in 2022 there will be even 24.
The new “Bachelor” season starts in spring 2024
The new season of “The Bachelor” – or the first of “The Bachelors” – breaks another habit. The show doesn’t start in an exotic location as usual, but in Germany. Only after getting to know each other for the first time on home soil do the bachelors and their chosen ones fly to South Africa.

For the first time since the fourth season in 2014, filming will take place in the African country again. The format was most recently filmed in the USA and Mexico. Flirting has only taken place once in Germany: the eleventh season with Niko Griesert had to forgo any exotic flair due to the corona pandemic.
The 14th season is scheduled to air on RTL in spring 2024 and RTL+ start, an exact date has not yet been set. In 2023 it started on March 1st, in previous years it started in January. This year the bachelor’s name was David Jackson. In the final he chose candidate Angelina Utzeri. At the big reunion, Jackson revealed that he was in a relationship with runner-up Lisa Mieschke.
