There may be no need to separate them. Lyon and Marseille announced on Tuesday their intention to submit a joint application for the organization of the Winter Olympics in 2030. Or more precisely, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur regions.
In a press release, the two communities, which had previously planned to each carry a file (one for 2030, the other for 2034 or 2038), explained that they had “closer to consider” to put all their chances of side and represent France together.
The objective is to arrive at a collective decision by mid-September.
