The animals of an animal park on a frozen diet to resist the heat wave

Visitors and animals, same fight against the heat. Our friends the animals are not spared by the heat wave which is currently raging in 50 French departments. In Moselle, the animal park of Sainte-Croix anticipates high temperatures to relieve its 1,500 animals. Thus, ice cubes made up of food are distributed to bears, lemurs, gibbons or other raccoons.

Like Pairi Daiza

“The Park’s animal team takes care of its little ones by concocting refreshing diets based on large ice cubes with fish and / or seasonal fruits according to everyone’s food preferences”, explains the management, this Monday, in a communicated.

Last year, the Belgian animal park Pairi Daiza took the initiative to offer the same kind of ice cream to its residents. This year, the heat wave spares, for the moment, the country.
