The ABC Cinema honors Romy Schneider with a film series – Munich

In the summer of 1968, Romy Schneider’s film career had stalled; she was living in Berlin with her husband and two-year-old son – and was bored. But then the man who had left her a few years earlier called: Alain Delon was in the middle of preparing a new film and asked Schneider if she wanted to star alongside him.

She wanted to, and a short time later she traveled to the Côte d’Azur: “The Swimming Pool” became an artistic and commercial triumph, and also heralded Romy Schneider’s comeback. The ABC cinema is bringing this elegant thriller back to the screen – and is starting a Romy Schneider film series: In the coming weeks, classics such as “The Trial” (January 31st), “The Girl and the Inspector” (February 7th ) or “A Simple Story” (February 21) on the schedule.
