The 4x400m relay wins the first French medal of the Worlds, the United States crowned

The French athletics team will not finish the World Championships in Budapest fanny. The men’s 4x400m relay set its new French record in 2’58″45 to win the first medal of these Hungarian Worlds. Ludvy Vaillant, Gilles Biron, David Sombe and Téo Andant finished in second place, behind the United States (2’57″31) but ahead of Great Britain (2’58″71).

After a good first lap by 400m hurdles specialist Ludvy Vaillant, Gilles Biron then David Sombe did a lot of work to pass the baton to Téo Andant in second position. Remarkable on Saturday evening during qualifying, the French champion resisted the forceps on the return of Great Britain to ensure the first tricolor charm.
