Dirt eraser: tips for optimal stain removal

Helpful tools and gadgets have become indispensable in the household. Whether a window vacuum, a robot mop or a dirt eraser: these tools make cleaning easier. We’ll tell you here what dirt erasers are suitable for and what you should consider when using them.
What is a dirt eraser?
A Dirt eraser is an open-pored sponge. It usually consists of melamine resin. This is foamed up and in the form of a sponge, similar to a large eraser. If you use it and walk over surfaces with it, it gradually rubs off – just like an eraser. The falling resin particles can be picked up with a damp cloth and disposed of.
What can I use dirt erasers for?
Of the Dirt eraser works without any harmful ingredients. Before you use it, you should moisten it with clear water. Then you can use it like a sponge that rubs off when you use it. With the little all-rounder, you can basically go over any surface that you want to clean. It is best if these are tough and not too sensitive. The practical household helper is particularly suitable for the following types of dirt.
Tips for using the magic sponge
- Wax painter: Anyone who has children at home will surely be familiar with it: If you don’t look, the little ones have painted walls or tables with crayons or waterproof pens. A miracle sponge can be of great help here and removes doodles in next to no time.
- Shoe soles: The helpers are also useful for sneakers or sneakers with white rubber soles: Carefully walk the dirt eraser over the sole until the discoloration has disappeared. In a few minutes the shoes will look like new again.
- Window frame: Discolored plastic window frames can also be removed with a Dirt eraser treat. The great thing about it: It doesn’t take any harsh chemicals or a lot of effort – just a little patience when erasing dirt.
- Urine stone: Tiles and fittings as well as urine stone in the toilet or yellow-colored joints are further areas of application for everyday helpers. With the sponge these surfaces become sparkling clean again.
- Rubber tracks: You can also get a grip on unsightly rubber tracks on the floor. Simply rub over the streaks until they can no longer be seen.
- A magic sponge can also help with other types of dirt, such as glue residue or dirty leather.
What should I not use the dirt eraser for?
In the kitchen in particular, you should make sure that the resin particles that fall off can be completely removed. Scrub the oven with a dirt eraser should that work. However, this is not guaranteed with a cutting board with many notches and grooves. The abrasion can get stuck there and possibly get onto food. It’s best to avoid that.
You should also be careful on softer surfaces such as a sofa or carpets. Here the miracle sponge is not as effective and can rub off the paint – this also applies to colored walls or colorful wallpaper. In addition, soft surfaces can be roughened by using the household helper. Also be careful with lacquered surfaces: these can become dull with a dirt eraser treatment. If the sponge soaks up with water, it almost looks like sandpaper. With sensitive surfaces, it is better to test it in one place before removing stains.
