Thanks to their giant heart, a Frenchman and his daughter elected “artists of the year” on Strava

Even beginners who run or cycle more than two kilometers share their data on the specialized Strava application. Frédéric de Lanouvelle does it too, but for otherwise impressive performances.

Accompanied by his daughter Mathilde (16 years old), this ex-journalist and former spokesperson for the Minister of the Interior traveled exactly 2,162.31 km in tandem for sixteen days in the summer of 2023, to trace a heart at the start from Lyon, across France. The duo received the “Artists of the Year” award at the “Strava Year In Sport Awards 2023” on Friday, “among more than 120 million users”, according to the app.

Already world record holders

With this family and summer performance, carried out for the benefit of the Mécénat surgical cardiac association, Frédéric and Mathilde had already broken the world record for the longest GPS drawing by bike and as a team.

The forty-year-old is not his first attempt. In 2022, he competed in the Marathon des Sables with his eldest daughter Cécile, 250 km in six days covered in the Moroccan desert.
