The letter that the American Traffic Safety Administration sent to Tesla on Tuesday is cautious but clearly worded. There are indications that the electric car manufacturer’s autopilot poses a higher risk of accidents “under certain circumstances,” the letter says. Tesla therefore has to recall more than two million cars and provide them with a software update – almost all of the vehicles that the company has sold on the American market since 2015.
