The US company wants to change its battery strategy to benefit from tax incentives in the US, reports that Wall Street Journal citing insiders. US President Joe Biden signed a law in August that provides billions in tax incentives for electric car manufacturers. Electric vehicle buyers are eligible for a $7,500 tax credit per purchase if the car’s batteries meet certain criteria. Tesla was initially unable to comment. Tesla also wanted to produce batteries in its factory in Grünheide.
