Tesla Cybertruck even more apocalyptic: This is how a tuner wants to pimp the pick-up

Even though the engines of electric cars are relatively difficult to tune, the market for accessories is huge. Of course, this also applies to Tesla. It didn’t take long for the specialist Unplugged Performance to pounce on the recently released Cybertruck.

Numerous extras can already be ordered for the vehicle today, which make the “apocalyptic pick-up” appear a little more brutal. Or simply make the car more practical.

For example, Unplugged Performance offers cargo area storage systems, alternative rims, roof racks, a Starlink station holder, larger brakes and side luggage racks.

“Tough” accessories for the Cybertruck

The tuners apparently focus on camping trips and trips off paved roads. Not only the many parts mentioned should help, but also heavy weapons, such as steel underbody protection, steel fenders and lots and lots of light.

The advertising slogan is above all apocalyptic. The bull bar is sold something like this: “The front bull bar is a tough product made for a tough world. Made from high-strength carbon steel, the bull catcher offers immense strength and durability.” A bit of apocalypse always comes with Cybertruck drivers.

However, such a conversion is not cheap. Raising the car by 6.3 centimeters alone costs around $10,000. A new rear bumper costs $4,000 and the front bumper costs $3,000. A crash protection costs another 2,000 US dollars, the underbody plate costs 2,300 US dollars.

What’s left is a Cybertruck that hardly resembles the original because of all the add-on parts – whether it’s more beautiful or more hideous is probably in the eye of the beholder.

There is one problem: the many steel parts make the truck heavier and heavier. The most expensive Cybertruck weighs 3.1 tons right out of the box – if you then unscrew every plastic part and replace it with steel, the battery will probably have to carry a lot more than is already the case. This doesn’t do the range any favors.

Tesla also offers many extras

There are also quite a few accessories from Tesla itself. For example, you can get a tent that can be mounted on the truck bed for around $3,000. A ramp is available for $400, the spare wheel costs $1250 and a matt black film that actually suits the car very well costs $6500.
