It seems that Tesla CEO Elon Musk is not a big fan of Twitter’s inclusion of non-fungible tokens (NFTs).TweetIn Musk’s post, he blamed Twitter for using engineering resources to integrate the NFT while not doing enough to curb spam activity on the social media site.
“This is annoying,” he wrote. “Twitter is using engineering resources on this stuff. While crypto scammers are hosting spambot parties in every thread!?”
Twitter recently began rolling out profile pictures with NFT, which Musk’s criticism of Twitter’s NFT is likely because fake accounts often impersonate the Tesla CEO and other prominent figures to promote giveaway scams. Crypto, which in 2020 once had a Musk impersonator managed to steal $2 million from its victims.
Twitter’s NFT integration is currently only available to subscribed members of the social media company Twitter Blue.
