Terrorist threats to police academies ultimately came from internal practice letter

As they say, more fear than harm. The terrorist attack threat letter, found on Friday evening at the Nîmes police academy, which had also led to the complete evacuation of the establishment as well as the schools of Oissel and Saint-Malo, ultimately came from an internal attack simulation exercise.

In memory, Friday evening, “information was brought to our attention requiring the implementation of a lifting of doubt in several police schools (ENP), namely in Nîmes, Oissel and Saint-Malo (…) . Checks, undertaken as a precaution, led to the evacuation of the student police officers who were accommodated, “the DGPN had previously indicated to AFP. A few hundred students were accommodated overnight from Friday to Saturday in gymnasiums.

The students were able to return to their schools on Saturday afternoon, after a complete removal of doubt, had indicated the general direction of the national police (DGPN).

The DGPN did not specify what the nature of the alert was but, according to two sources close to the investigation at AFP, it was a letter found on one of the walkways of the Nîmes police school involving threats of a terrorist nature. It turned out that this document related to a simulation-type exercise of a terrorist attack carried out at school, according to sources close to the investigation.
