Several dead and injured in attacks in Pakistan. The attacks raise concerns about further violence on election day tomorrow.

On the day before the parliamentary elections it was in There have been several deadly attacks in Pakistan. At least 14 people were killed in an explosion in an office belonging to a constituency candidate in the southwestern province of Baluchistan. More than 30 others were injured, a spokesman for the local administration told the German Press Agency.

The authority spokesman speaks of a targeted attack. The explosion was caused by a bomb installed on a motorcycle.

There was another attack on the office of a constituency candidate in the same province. According to a local police spokesman, twelve people were killed and nine injured. Both candidates were not in their office at the time of the crime.

Pakistan will elect a new parliament on Thursday. Due to the recent increase in attacks by militant Islamist groups, the situation ahead of the elections in the country with more than 240 million inhabitants is tense. The Pakistani Taliban (TTP), which despite ideological proximity is independent of the Taliban ruling Afghanistan, recently announced in a statement that it would not attack the elections despite their rejection.
