Jelina Switolina missed the Wimbledon title. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian has achieved a lot in the past few days and encouraged her compatriots.

After her triumph in Wimbledon, which was only stopped in the semifinals, the Ukrainian Elena Svitolina sent an emotional message to her compatriots.

“It’s about believing in yourself. And to keep dreaming and to do everything to make your dream come true,” said Switolina after her semi-final in the classic lawn against the Czech Marketa Vondrousova.

After the defeat, the 28-year-old returned to France to her husband Gael Monfils and their daughter on Thursday evening. “This is the perfect time for it,” said Switolina, who kept fighting back tears at her last press conference in London. In the past few days she had always emphasized that she wanted to use her successes to give her compatriots who were suffering from the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine some distraction.
