Holger Rune is the first tennis professional to reach the final of the Munich ATP tournament and can defend his title on Sunday.

The 19-year-old Dane defeated the Zverev conqueror Christopher O’Connell from Australia 6: 3, 6: 2 in the semifinals. In the game for around 85,000 euros in prize money and a sports car, Rune meets American Taylor Fritz or last year’s Dutch finalist Botic van de Zandschulp.

Rune is still in the tournament without losing a set and is still in top form about a month before the start of the French Open. For the teenager it is already the second final within a week after the strong performance in Monte Carlo. The ambitious seventh in the world rankings could win his fourth ATP title on the Iphitos facility.
