First round exit for Daniel Altmaier in Monte Carlo
Daniel Altmaier is still finding his form on clay. In Monte Carlo it was over for him again in the first round.
Davis Cup professional Daniel Altmaier was eliminated in the first round of the Masters 1000 tournament in Monte Carlo. The 25-year-old tennis player lost against the Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo 2:6, 6:7 (3:7).
Altmaier had actually already failed in the qualification, but ended up in the main field as a so-called lucky loser. However, he was unable to take advantage of this opportunity and had to admit defeat after 1:49 hours.
The day before, Dominik Koepfer had already lost his opening game. Jan-Lennard Struff, on the other hand, made it to the second round. Alexander Zverev has a bye at the start. He now meets the Austrian Sebastian Ofner.
