Tennis Olympic champion Alexander Zverev gained new self-confidence shortly before the French Open.

The 26-year-old won his round of 16 match against the American Christopher Eubanks at the ATP tournament in Geneva after a confident performance 6: 2, 6: 3. Zverev converted his second match ball after 1:08 hours.

“I’m very happy to be here in the quarter-finals, to be able to play golf tomorrow and have a day off,” said Zverev afterwards: “I really enjoyed it today.”

In the fight for the semi-final ticket of the clay court tournament, the number three seeded from Hamburg, who had a bye in the first round, meets the winner of the match Wu Yibing from China against Marco Cecchinato from Italy. Other German tennis players are not in the main field of the tournament.
