Sat.1 wants to score points with new early evening series. In addition to “The Country Doctor’s Practice,” “The Coastal Revier” is intended to attract television viewers to their screens. Lead actor Till Demtrøder has experience in crime series.

After the start of “The Country Doctor’s Practice” takes place Sat.1 will be adding another early evening series to its program from next year. The 80 episodes of “The Coastal Revier” with Till Demtrøder in the lead role are scheduled to start in early 2024. TV audiences know him, among others, as Thomas Wolf in the ARD soap “Verbotene Liebe” and as civil investigator Henning Schulz from the series “Großstadtrevier”.

“With our series “The Country Doctor’s Practice” we meet the visual feeling of our viewers – both the evening before on Sat.1 and on Joyn,” said Sat.1 boss Marc Rasmus. The path of relying on local fictional material is now being consistently pursued with the new series.

Sat.1 writes about the plot of “The Coastal District”: Demtrøder is investigating as Chief Inspector Harry Stein in the Baltic Sea town of Küstritz. “Stein is a police officer with heart and soul in the small coastal town. To Harry’s joy, his single daughter Hanna (Vanessa Eckart) returns from Rostock with her fifteen-year-old son Benni (Manuel Santos Gelke) to her hometown to work as a detective in her father’s police station “What Harry doesn’t know is that Hanna had a reason to leave Rostock as quickly as possible.”
