This week on “Germany’s Next Top Model” it was once again a case of getting out of your comfort zone. Not all of the beauties stood in front of Heidi in a “touch of nothing” with enough conviction.
Before they got down to business, the models had other tasks waiting for them this week. They were supposed to sell moments – and in doing so advertise plastic eyelashes and deodorant sprays. Bare-chested and wearing black patent leather, four of the candidates also provided masculine energy in a music video by Austrian singer Kaleen, who recently competed for her home country in the Eurovision Song Contest. Surprisingly exhausting, summed up candidate Jermaine.
For the decisive shoot this week, the models were supposed to slip into “a transparent nothing” or a “hint of nothing”. They realised this when they arrived at the location of the biggest shoot this week. “This is not just any sleazy shoot,” Armin encouraged himself and his fellow contestants beforehand. However, some of the models were worried instead of brave. What if family and friends see me like this? They are not wearing much, Klum also admitted. “But then they have to pay attention to every detail.”
“The pants are gone!”
“Did you know that there are underwear like that – for men?” and “Do you feel naked?” As a welcome, Klum asked the crucial questions that got to the heart of the challenge. Only a small piece of skin-colored fabric covered the models’ intimate areas. The first in the rain was Linus. Klum announced: “A huge monsoon storm is coming your way.” Then she sang the song of the same name by Tokio Hotel – her husband Tom Kaulitz’s band – and suddenly: “The pants are gone!” And Linus’ shoot was over.
Next week, the young models have to overcome their fear again. This time not naked in the water, but several meters above an abyss. “When I saw the crane, I knew: my life could end today,” Jermaine described the situation.
