She was shocked at the time, says the 21-year-old participant about an experience of racism in her youth. Today she is self-confident.

The top model candidate Somajia reported on experiences of racism in her youth in the episode of “Germany’s Next Top Model” that was broadcast in the evening. Once they wanted to prevent her from getting on a bus and she was racially abused, said the 21-year-old from Bielefeld, whose parents are from West African Togo.

She was shocked at the time. “No one said anything.” But today she knows how to deal with racist attacks, said the young woman and added: “I’ll never let that happen to me again.”

For once, the new episode of Heidi Klum’s casting show began the way it usually ends: with a decision. Because it literally fell into the water in the second episode of the season a week ago due to a storm on the beach, it was made up for with a week’s delay. The contestants Melissa and Slata had to leave Rankin after a short video shoot with Klum’s favorite photographer – before the episode had really started.
