SMS, calls, emails… Canvassing for the personal training account (CPF) should soon be banned. An amendment will be tabled soon to the finance bill (PLF), indicated
the Ministry of Labor at Parisian, this Monday.
“It is a question of drawing inspiration from the law put in place after the abuses observed within the framework of the energy renovation, which prohibits any telephone canvassing”, explained the office of the Minister of Labor, Elisabeth Borne, at Parisian.
Call centers in Africa
For several months, some French people have been attacked by text messages, e-mails or calls, inviting them to subscribe to training thanks to the personal training account (CPF), sometimes several times a week. According to our colleagues, these requests come from call centers located in sub-Saharan Africa or in Israel, subcontractors of training centers.
Created two years ago, the CPF allows employees, public officials or job seekers who have worked, to acquire training rights that can be used throughout their professional life. Each year, these rights are automatically credited in euros, and no longer in hours, allowing employees to choose training, without having to seek the agreement of their employers.
A warning from the government
But such scam attempts are such that the government issued a statement last week warning users. According to The Parisian, some platforms buy telephone files on the Dark Web and resell them to training centers.
“Be on the lookout for and do not follow through with scam attempts to steal your CPF credits. The cybermalveillance.gouv.fr site collects testimonies and reminds us that neither the Caisse des Dépôts, nor Pôle emploi, nor the Ministry of Labor make any telephone inquiries about the CPF ”, can we read on the service-public site. “The smart kids and the tricksters have indeed scented the huge market. In hard money, the 38 million CPF accounts represent a nice jackpot of around 53 billion euros saved and managed by the Caisse des Dépôts ”, write our colleagues from the Parisian.
