Telegram Users Can Now Send Crypto Payments To Each Other

TON Foundation, a decentralized layer 1 blockchain designed by Telegram, has added a new crypto payment feature to its messaging app. This feature allows users to send Toncoin, the corporate digital currency, to other Telegram users without transaction fees. And users can also buy bitcoin (BTC) through the “@wallet” bot.

“With this service You will no longer have to enter long wallet addresses or wait for confirmation,” Telegram said in a tweet announcing the feature. This feature is similar to the Bitcoin payment functionality that Twitter Elon Musk has offered via the Tip Jar feature since September last year. However, Twitter uses the Stripe platform for such payments.

“We expect this functionality to expand to consumers. including business payments So that people can easily get goods and services by sending toncoin via bots in the Telegram app,” the TON Foundation said.
