The federal government wants to massively push back the use of Chinese technology in German telecommunications networks. According to information from Süddeutsche Zeitung The Federal Ministry of the Interior will take stock of the technology already in use in mobile communications networks by the summer. There could be formal bans by autumn at the latest. The companies may then have to exchange important parts or software from suppliers such as Huawei and replace them with parts from other suppliers.
