Tekken 8: Raven is back and brings the “Coffee Queen” with her

Just recently, a dataminer came up with a list of possible start-up line-ups Tekken 8Bandai Namco is now officially releasing two new characters that they previously leaked themselves.

Apparently unintentionally, two entries about new playable fighters for the upcoming eighth part of the Tekken series were found on the Bandai Namco Europe website a few days ago. Although this error was quickly corrected and the content was deleted from the page, the news was unstoppable: Raven is returning to the Tekken universe and is bringing with him someone named “Azucena”. Today Bandai Namco made the official announcement and there is more detailed information about the two characters.

Many players still know Raven from Tekken 5 and Tekken 6. After the events of Tekken 6, the UN secret agent suspended the seventh part for the first time in order to undergo tough training and start again with Tekken 8. Raven has his special technique “Soul Field” which enables cloning and teleportation in the arena.

Peruvian MMA fighter Azucena, on the other hand, is a brand new face in Tekken’s long-running history. In fact, taking part in The King of Iron Fist Tournament seems to be all about the money for her. According to the developers, she is there to promote her parents’ coffee plantation. In combat, she relies primarily on her mixed martial arts skills and intuition.

Despite all the leaks, there is still no release date for Tekken 8, so it will be interesting to see how big the squad of fighters will actually be in the end.
