A real torture. On May 31, a 17-year-old girl living in Rennes was the victim of an ultra-violent settling of scores. Hit several times, injured with taser and cutter, the young woman was taken to different districts of the Breton capital where she was assaulted. Her hair has been partially clipped. Part of the abuse was filmed and broadcast on social networks. This Thursday, five people suspected of being involved were arrested and taken into police custody. According to the Rennes prosecutor’s office, the accused accused the victim of being behind an account of a social network spreading “rumors and insults”.

The facts started around 6 p.m. on May 31, when the victim was contacted by an acquaintance. She is led by this acquaintance and three other women around the ice rink, located at Les Gayeulles, in the district of Maurepas. There, three other women show up and abuse her. They force the victim to get into a car. Taken to a parking lot in the south of Rennes, she is again the victim of violence by the same three women. She receives a taser and sees her clothes being partially ripped off. His ordeal is not over, however. Returned to the vehicle, the victim is taken to the Italy district, where about twenty men assault her. She is then the victim of a cutter and sees a man shaving part of her hair.

Respondents dispute the facts

The victim was finally brought back to his home around 9:30 p.m. by two of the people arrested on Thursday. Supported in hospital, the teenager presented with lesions and received a seven-day ITT. Entrusted to the departmental security, the investigation led to the arrest of four women aged 19, 23, 25 and 29, and a man aged 19. The victim explained to investigators that her attackers suspected her of being the source of rumors and insults disseminated on a social network.

The public prosecutor Philippe Astruc specifies that the investigations are continuing in order to identify all the protagonists and to establish the facts. “The people involved contesting for the time being important elements of the story made by the victim”, explains the prosecutor, who adds. “Important investigations therefore remain to be done before arriving at the manifestation of the truth and the determination of criminal responsibilities”.
