Technical University of Munich introduces tuition fees for foreigners – Munich

Students coming from outside the EU pay up to 12,000 euros per year. The money should only be put into better equipment – in the “galloping international competition”.

Ten years ago, the Free State abolished general tuition fees in Bavaria, now the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is reintroducing them – for students who come from outside the EU. Corresponding information of Süddeutsche Zeitung University President Thomas Hofmann confirmed in a conversation on Friday. From the 2024/2025 winter semester onwards, studying for people from non-EU countries will be subject to a fee, explains Hofmann. “Depending on the degree, it will be 2,000 or 3,000 euros per semester for a bachelor’s degree and 4,000 or 6,000 euros per semester for a master’s.” The course then costs between 4,000 and 12,000 euros per year.
