The wrath of the teaching world does not subside. At the end of an inter-union meeting organized this Friday, February 2 in the afternoon, several unions are once again calling on staff to go on strike on Tuesday, February 6. Satisfied with a significant mobilization on Thursday February 1, the representatives of the teaching staff do not want to stop there. Salaries, working conditions, level groups, defense of public schools and crystallization around the controversies of Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, the demands are numerous, and will not be resolved in one day. “To win, let’s continue the action!” launches Snes-FSU to teachers.
“Register for the long term”
In his press release, “47% of college, high school and CIO staff were on strike on February 1,” recalls the union (20.26% of teachers according to the ministry). Despite the significant mobilizations of farmers, professors and teachers made themselves heard by Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, to the point of making the main person react on TF1 this Friday morning, who insisted that she was not considering resigning. The Sud Education union considers in his press release that “the minister has no legitimacy” and that’“it must immediately satisfy our demands for our salaries and the public education service”.
In addition to the day of mobilization on Tuesday, the unions are seeing things big, with “diversified actions […] proposed the rest of the week to make the demands of staff for public schools heard,” specifies Snes-FSU. In a separate press release, the CGT Éduc’action also calls “staff to make the week of February 5 a week of action in Education”. The objective now: “Being long-term.”
