The best-selling author gives the authority figure. It’s midday, a normal day at the Johannes Scharrer High School near Nuremberg Castle. Ewald Arenz makes his way through the young people. “You were late,” he admonishes a boy and nudges him; “Didn’t you hear the bell?” he asks two girls, who first say “nope” but then giggle when he tells him to hurry up. “Yes, Mr. Arenz.”
