Swifties have been waiting for this for a long time, Taylor Swift’s new album “The Tortured Poets Department” was released today. As you know from the musician, she has processed her own relationships and arguments on it – and so some of the song lines speak volumes.

Whenever Taylor Swift releases new music, her fans go crazy. Why? Swift is known for processing past relationships, conflicts or even her current love life in her songs. Quite a few people close to the singer are likely to tremble when she releases new hits and brings her opponents into conversation.

Taylor Swift releases new album “The Tortured Poets Department”

For several weeks now, fans have been speculating that Swift’s ex-boyfriend, actor Joe Alwyn, would be a central part of her new album. At the beginning of last year, the two separated after six years of dating. And that even though there were already rumors of an engagement.

A track that most likely describes her British ex and their time together is “So Long, London.” If her lyrics correspond to true events, it seems as if Swift has a hard time for Alwyn and his family Love fought. “Pulled him in tighter each time he was drifting away / My spine split from carrying us up the hill,” she sings .” In the second verse she sings that she is “angry that she gave him all her youth for nothing.” In the bridge, it even sounds like Swift was waiting for her boyfriend to propose, but it never came. “You swore that you loved me but where were the clues? / I died on the altar waiting for the proof,” she sings and waited for the proof”).

Side swipes at Joe Alwyn

In “LOML” (considered an abbreviation for “Love of my Life”) she goes into more detail about this. “You st talked to me under the table / talking rings and talking cradles / I wish I could un-recall how we nearly had it all,” the lyrics say. He talked about rings and baby beds, but all of that was nonsense. Shortly before her split from Alwyn became official, Swift began the first leg of her “Eras” world tour last year. The singer suggests on her new album that she was heartbroken at the time. But: The show must go on. “Lights, camera bitch smile / even when you want to die,” she sings on the song with the telling title “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” But Alwyn is far from the only one getting his fat off – a fact that surprises fans. “Remember when we thought ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ was a Joe Alwyn breakup album and then Taylor Swift also dumped Matt Healy and Kim Kardashian?” writes a fan on X.

Her brief liaison with The 1975 singer Matty Healy, which made headlines last summer, is also apparently discussed on Swift’s new album. “You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist / I scratch your head you fall asleep / Like a tattooed golden retriever,” she sings in the title song “The Tortured Poets Department”. It is well known that Healy smokes. Also that he has a lot of tattoos. Additionally, one of his band’s songs is called “Chocolate.” All clues, but in the end only she knows whether Swift actually means Healy in her song. In another song, she defends her partner and sings that she can “heal” him. After photos of Swift and Healy were published last year, quite a few Swifties reacted with shock. Matty Healy is considered controversial and has been in the headlines for several controversies himself.

She settles scores with Kim Kardashian

Meanwhile, on X, formerly Twitter, fans are sure that Swift is teasing Kim Kardashian in her latest work. A quick look back: In 2016, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift had a public argument. West claimed at the time that Swift approved a song that mentioned her name. However, what emerged – the line “I feel like Taylor Swift still owes me sex” is said to have deviated from his previous agreements. Swift called West at the time and expressed her concerns. What she didn’t know at the time: West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, recorded the phone conversation and published it.

Swift’s new song “thanK you aIMee” – note the capitalization of certain letters – is part of her new anthology album, which she released in addition to “The Tortured Poets Department.” The song is about a bully bullying someone else. Fans know that Swift felt bullied by Kardashian at the time.

But it’s not just heartbreak, anger and suffering that are heard on Swift’s new work. When the song “The Alchemy” was leaked a few days ago, many Swifties quickly realized that it had to be a song for Swift’s current partner, football star Travis Kelce. “The American football references… Welcome to your first song, Travis,” one fan wrote on still reserved for me” (“Baby, I’m the one it’s supposed to be / ‘Cause the sign on your heart / Says it’s reserved for me”). Before Kelce and Swift became a couple, he made no secret of his feelings for the musician in public. He mentioned her name again and again in interviews until the two actually got in touch and finally became a couple.

For Swift, the chemistry seems to be right – quite literally. “This happens once every few lifetimes / These chemicals hit me like white wine,” she sings in “The Alchemy.”
