An interview by Damon Albarn is currently causing a stir. The Blur frontman shoots at Taylor Swift in it.
Blur frontman Damon Albarn (53) rows back and apologizes to US singer Taylor Swift (32). She had protested against the singer’s statement via Twittershe wouldn’t write her own songs.
“I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this,” she writes, linking to the interview in which Albarn denied her work as a songwriter. “I write ALL my own songs,” she insists. “Your wild claim is completely false and SO defamatory. You don’t have to like my songs, but it really sucks trying to deny my songwriting.” With biting irony, she also noted that she wrote the tweet herself.
Damon Albarn backtracks
After getting a lot of encouragement from her followers, Taylor Swift Damon Albarn himself also spoke up speak again. The singer-songwriter has issued an “unreserved and unconditional” apology, explaining that his statement was exaggerated to generate clicks. “The last thing I want to do is discredit your songwriting. I hope you understand”.

In fact, Taylor Swift is “only” credited as a co-writer alongside other songwriters on most of her songs.
Taylor Swift has not yet responded to Damon Albarn’s apology, who, by the way, preferred Billie Eilish (20) to her in the interview.
